Ingredients
3 Tbsp. of butter
3 medium size sweet onions, diced
1 Tbsp. of kosher salt
2 tsp. of sugar
1 tsp. of garlic powder
1/4 tsp. of cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp. of thyme
12 ounces of sour cream
4 ounces of softened cream cheese
1 tsp. of worcestershire sauce
Directions
- In a medium size saute pan, melt butter. Add onions, salt, sugar, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and thyme. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring. Reduce the heat to medium low and continue to cook for 25-30 minutes or until onions are golden brown, stirring occasionally. Remove from stove and allow to cool.
- Add sour cream, cream cheese and worcestershire sauce to a medium size bowl, mix until smooth. You might need to microwave the mixture in 15 second intervals if necessary.
- Add caramelized onions and mix until combined.
- Serve at room temperature.
Tips
- 1. Serve with chips and/or veggies. This dip would also be delicious on toasted bagels.
