  • 1 lb. of thinly sliced beef ( we used Wegmans shaved Beef Steak)

  • 1 green pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 package of sliced mushrooms

  • 1 package of 12 Hawaiian dinner rolls

  • 6 slices of provolone or american cheese

  • 2 Tbsp. of Mayonnaise

  • 2 Tbsp. of melted butter

  • 1 Tbsp. of onion salt (we used Trader Joes’s)

  • kosher salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Directions

  •  Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray bottom of 11 x 17 baking dish with cooking spray. Then separate the tops and bottoms of the rolls and place the bottoms in the dish.
  • Cook the steak in a skillet for about 10 -15 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Saute green pepper, onion and mushrooms until tender. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread mayonnaise on the top and bottom of the rolls. Spread meat evenly on the bottom of the rolls and layer with peppers, onion and mushrooms. Top with cheese slices.
  •  Place top of rolls on the cheese. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with onion salt.
  •  Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  •  Cut and Serve.

Tips

  • 1. If you are making more than 12 we recommend using a sheet pan instead of a baking dish-you can fit more!
