Baked Tilapia with Lemons and Jalapeños

If your New Year’s resolution is to eat healthier…this recipe is for you! Plus, it doesn’t take much time and it’s very simple to make. This recipe can actually be used with any mild-flavored white fish.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of fresh tilapia fillets

  • 3 Tbsp. of butter, softened

  • 1 Tbsp. of lemon juice

  • 2 tsp. of minced garlic

  • 1/2 cup of fresh grated parmesan cheese

  • kosher salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

  • 1 lemon cut into thin slices

  • 1 jalapeños cut into thin slices

  • 1 Tbsp. of fresh thyme

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spray baking sheet with non-stick spray.
  • Arrange the fillets on the baking sheet.
  • Mix butter, lemon juice and garlic in a small bowl and spread over the tilapia pieces.  Sprinkle with parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
  •   Arrange lemon and jalapeños slices and thyme on top of fillets.
  •   Bake fish for 15-20 minutes.

  • 1. Tilapia is a lean, mild tasting, flaky fish. It is very versatile and can be cooked many ways.
  • 2. Tilapia is high in protein and heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Although it doesn’t contain as many fatty acids as salmon, it still contains more than beef, chicken, turkey and beef.
