A charcuterie and cheese board is the perfect appetizer to serve your guests as they arrive and you are finalizing the preparations of your Thanksgiving dinner.  Decorate your board with seasonal fall gourds, add some meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, crackers, jams and honey. Your guests will be impressed by this beautiful and delicious spread. The best part about creating a board is that there are no rules and there are so many variations depending on the holiday, season and number of guests. Get creative and have fun!!

Since there isn’t a specific recipe to create a charcuterie and cheese board, we will share some tips and guidelines on how to assemble one. Most of our ingredients are from Trader Joe’s (prices and selections are the best)!

Ingredients

  • Cheeses
  • Trader Joe’s Unexpected Cheddar Cheese

  • Trader Joe’s Royal Grand Cru

  • Trader Joe’s French Brie

  • Wegmans Parmigiano Reggiano Bites

  • Meats
  • Trader Joe’s assorted meats, prosciutto and salami

  • Fruits, nuts and olives:
  • Trader Joe’s walnuts

  • Wegmans assorted pitted olives

  • Grapes and blueberries

  • Honey
  • Sticky Situation’s Rosemary Honey (local store located in Peddlers Village, Lahaska, Pa.}

  • Crackers
  • Triscuit Thin Crisps (parmesan and garlic flavored)

Directions

  • When creating a board, we think about spacing, color and texture. We usually like to start with two or three small bowls and place them in different areas on the board. Fill them with small items, such as olives, nuts, peppers, mustard or jams and honey.
  • Next, add seasonal decorations if you have any (pumpkins, gourds).
  • From here, begin to add different cheeses and meats. Choose various textures and colors of cheeses. Some cheeses, such as brie or blue cheese can be added as wedge.
  • Next, fill in the blanks with fruit, crackers, nuts and herbs. The goal is to cover the board!
